GTS Security provides a unique manned guarding service to specific streets or suburbs. The service is a deterrent and offers no guarantee against any losses incurred.
The guards are STATIC at a road or junction and to assist in their duties a guard hut solar light, road barriers and a panic button linked to PJM Response for his use are provided to assist with the control of pedestrian and vehicle access. GTS are not permitted to totally close the road as it is a public road, and a delicate balance has to be arrived at between paid-up members and those that did not contribute.
Ideally persons and vehicles identified by a sticker or a pass have less controlled movement through the controlled area than those without passes who are restricted, slowed down, recorded, and interrogated. The concept here is to restrict vehicles and pedestrians from entering the road who are not residents or who have no official business in the area. Record keeping of these non-residents is important.
Over and above the standard security equipment the guard is equipped with a PJM APPanic/ Panic to call for assistance in the event of an emergency. A supervisor or visiting manager will visit the guard at various times during his duty. PJM Response vehicle may from time to time base as the same location.
We would strongly recommend that the post be manned by 2 guards and not a single guard as during a hostile confrontation a single guard may not be able to resist the entry. We understand the cost implications of this but this is the recommendation we prefer.
As the community adapts to the new controls and regulations, changes to the guard’s instructions will take place on your request. If so, we prefer these changes to made in writing by a committee member and emailed to our management. Please note that verbal changes will not be implemented.
As highlighted above, this is a STATIC post and no patrols are undertaken. Where patrols are required, a separate guard will be required. We encourage residents to have their own independent security systems and not rely for their total security on the street watch gate control. Please view the Security Shop where we have a few security solutions.
Where possible, connect to PJM Response for a dedicated response to each house. 50 or more PJM Response clients in an area will receive a dedicated night vehicle to the same area. Please contact PJM response, should you wish to join the PJM family.
What we are trying to achieve by a static security post controlling the street access is restricting free flow of unknown traffic to the area and hopefully providing enough deterrent.
As standard each member will receive 2 x vehicle pass stickers 2 x pedestrian pass and a gate sign If additional vehicle stickers or pedestrian passes are required ($2 each), please may the committee member email the request through to us.
The guard is not permitted to leave the post and respond to individual houses and the PJM Response vehicle is not available for public use – but to assist the guard in his duties and provide the guard with support when required and is reserved exclusively for its PJM Valued Customers.
PJM response work closely with the guard in the interests of the community and may be called in by the guard to attend to security issues that will affect the same area. (unmarked vehicles , to name a few!)
GTS and PJM are integrally involved with Highlands ZRP and have a good relationship and where necessary the quick deployment or use of ZRP is available through this relationship
Collection of money is often a problem with some members paying and some not. GTS will only receive a single payment and issue a single invoice. We strongly recommend a member of your community take this collection roll on.
